Is Florabase really free?
Yes — the Free plan is permanently free with no time limit. All core features (plants, logs, mixes, labels) are free. For AI features you need your own API key (BYOK) or use our server key within the quotas.
Which growing methods are supported?
All of them — soil, hydroponics, coco coir, perlite, aeroponics, DWC, NFT, Kratky and more. Florabase is method-agnostic.
What is BYOK?
BYOK = Bring Your Own Key. You add your own Anthropic or Plant.id API key to Florabase and pay the provider directly — no Florabase markup.
How does the AI Doctor work?
Upload a photo → Plant.id analyzes for diseases, deficiencies and pests. You get a diagnosis with treatment recommendations directly in the timeline.
What can the AI Advisor do?
A chatbot that knows your plant data — logs, measurements, mix config. Ask questions, get diagnoses and printable action plans including a watering schedule.
Can I export my data?
Export features are planned. Your data belongs to you — we will always provide a full export option.
Does Florabase run without a smartphone?
Yes — Progressive Web App (PWA), runs in the browser on desktop, tablet and smartphone. Native app is in development.
Where is my data stored?
Servers in Germany, GDPR-compliant, no third-country transfer.
